Algorithm for validating financial and economic web pages in terms of web content accessibility guidelines
PURPOSE: The purpose of the research is to present the algorithm for the validation of
economic and financial websites, allowing to check the degree of accessibility of these
websites in terms of WCAG standards with particular attention to people with disabilities
and the elderly. The developed method is automatic and allows to obtain both a general
score for the analyzed page and a detailed list of analyzed aspects.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: A two-step needs analysis process was conducted to
develop the algorithm. In the first phase, the literature was analyzed for selected aspects of
accessibility particularly relevant to people with disabilities and the elderly.FINDINGS: The results made it possible to determine the general directions of the algorithm,
which are particularly important for the mentioned users. The next stage was the analysis of
selected aspects of the websites in the context of their relation to the groups of recipients and
the possibilities of analysis by the algorithm. The result of this stage is a set of 9 aspects,
within which the individual elements checked by the algorithm were dissected.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The results obtained indicate that the evaluation made by the
algorithm coincides with the evaluation of the accessibility of the pages made by the experts.
The algorithm allows us to quickly analyze web pages for accessibility and to detect general
trends that characterize a given theme of pages. It allows to make general recommendations
for improvements and good practices for building accessible pages according to WCAG
recommendations.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The algorithm created is a proprietary project that allows the automatic
evaluation of websites. It is based on 9 aspects that make up websites, with the possibility of
expanding to more. It can be used to supplement expert knowledge or be used as a general
tool to inform about the state of accessibility for a given page. The work of Eryka Probierz was supported in part by the European

Multimedia Firearms Training System
The goal of the article is to present a novel Multimedia Firearms Training System. The system was developed in order to compensate for major problems of existing shooting training systems. The designed and implemented solution can be characterized by five major advantages: algorithm for automatic geometric calibration, algorithm of photometric recalibration, firearms hit point detection using thermal imaging camera, IR laser spot tracking algorithm for after action review analysis, and implementation of ballistics equations. The combination of the abovementioned advantages in a single multimedia firearms training system creates a comprehensive solution for detecting and tracking of the target point usable for shooting training systems and improving intervention tactics of uniformed services. The introduced algorithms of geometric and photometric recalibration allow the use of economically viable commercially available projectors for systems that require long and intensive use without most of the negative impacts on color mapping of existing multi-projector multimedia shooting range systems. The article presents the results of the developed algorithms and their application in real training systems
Technological capabilities of virtual reality laboratories for the training of personnel of state security entities
PURPOSE: The objective of this article was to present the analyzes of the needs of state
security entities in the context of training, with particular emphasis on the analysis of
technological possibilities of virtual reality laboratories in line with the paradigm of digital
training technologies.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: Analysis of the well-known literature, the authors'
experience of R&D and implementation in the area of security, requirements of state security
entities and best practices in the field of digital training technologies were taken into
account.FINDINGS: The result of the work is a set of identified features required for training systems
for state security entities, in particular for training anti-terrorist and counter-terrorist
activities.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: Virtual solutions will not replace training on real equipment,
however, they enable repetitive training in conditions similar to real ones, reducing training
costs and enabling instructors to constantly increase the level of training difficulty. Taking
into account the deficiencies in the infrastructure of uniformed and military services and the
prevailing trend to develop training facilities and improve the competences of officers and
soldiers at every level.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: It can be concluded that the presented solutions will have a positive
impact on the level of interdisciplinary training in the field of planning, preparation,
implementation and consequences of actions taken.peer-reviewe
Financial sentiment on Twitter's community and it's connection to Polish stock market movements in context of behavior modelling
PURPOSE: The paper analyzes the relationship between tweets published on social media
related to the stock market and stock market movements. The research conducted aims to
find patterns that may account for behavioral modelling patterns between social media and
the stock market.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: To conduct the research, 452,776 tweets containing a
hashtag with the name of at least one company included in the WIG20 of the Polish stock
market were analyzed. The data obtained also included information about the reach of the
tweet and the popularity of the author. The analyzed text also contained a timestamp
allowing the tweets to be linked to the behavior of the stock market. Additionally, the analysis
implemented developed Polish financial sentiment analysis vocabularies allowing for better
pattern retrieval.FINDINGS: The obtained results indicate that among the analyzed data, three patterns related
to the sentiment of statements accompanying a given company in social media can be
distinguished. A consistent sentiment present in many statements with a wide range is
decisive. When different sentiments are present, the presence of a pattern is not identifiable.
The implementation of Polish financial dictionaries allowed to distinguish also individual
words characterizing positive and negative sentiment.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The results obtained can form the basis for further, more in-depth
analyses between sentiment published in social media and stock market movements.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: Studies analyzing the relationship between the analysis of tweets and
stock markets are conducted but analyses related to the Polish stock market are not a
popular field of analysis. Due to the unique nature of each stock exchange, it is indicated to
be innovative and to be able to emerge some patterns, useful in the context of investing.peer-reviewe

Dynamic time warping in financial data : modification of algorithm in context of stock market similarity analysis
PURPOSE: The purpose of this paper is to use Dynamic Time Warping algorithm along with two
statistical tests, Fourier transform and Random permutation, to analyze the similarity of
company charts based on stock market data.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The analyzed data from the Warsaw Stock Exchange will
detect the similarity between different companies at different and the same time, and between
different times for the same company. The research has been carried out based on data from
the Warsaw Stock Exchange for selected companies on which DTW analysis has been
performed, using AAiFT (Fourier transformations) and RP (Random permutations).FINDINGS: Obtained results indicate that it is possible to detect high similarity between charts
by DTW and verify this similarity using statistical tests. Boundary conditions were indicated
for the analyses performed and various analysis cases were investigated.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: Conducted research reveals the relevance of the use of DTW in a
financial context and the possibility of further development as a tool to support investing.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: Previous analyses using the DTW method have not included the use of
statistical tests in the analysis of the resulting similarity. The use of such a solution is of
particular importance in stock market data, allowing the analysis and detection of similarity,
along with the determination of the probability of its occurrence.peer-reviewe
